Voluntary  Licensing Program

Effective January 1, 2025, all Voluntary License holders are required to maintain active membership with GARCA.

Currently, the state of Georgia does not require roofers to get a roofing license.  While we will continue to work with the state of Georgia to offer a roofing contractor license, we saw an immediate need to develop our own program.

The GARCA Voluntary Licensing Program was developed to protect consumers and secure the public's confidence in the Georgia roofing industry by elevating the roofing contractor’s knowledge, skills and professionalism through voluntary self-regulation.

The license is provided through and managed by GARCA and is available in both Residential (Steep Slope) and Commercial (Low Slope) contractors. The initial cost to apply is $300.  The annual renewal cost after the first year is $100.
